21 Israeli soldiers killed in Gaza combat.
The Israeli army said hat 21 soldiers were killed during fighting in southern Gaza Strip. This was the deadliest day for Israeli forces since the start of their ground operation.
A spokesman Rear Adm. for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Daniel Hagari said two buildings collapsed on the soldiers after being hit by an RPG during a military operation.
He said the buildings exploded probably as result of mines the Israeli forces had placed there to demolish them.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to press ahead until Israel crushes the ruling Hamas militant group and wins the freedom of over 100 hostages held captive in Gaza.
Israeli President Isaac Herzog wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that it had been an “unbearably difficult morning” learning about the extent of the death toll.
