DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has vehemently condemned President William Ruto for his continued use of police to harass and intimidate him, even one year after his impeachment.
The former Deputy President has once again criticized the President for deploying excessive force, including police officers throwing teargas in churches where he is attending prayers.
He has called on the President to leave him alone.
Mr. Gachagua also highlighted an incident at AIPCA Kimworia in Gatundu South Constituency, where police officers lobbed teargas at church members during his visit for worship.
He emphasized that such tactics are unjustifiable and should cease.
Furthermore, he pointed out that President Ruto was allowed by former President Uhuru Kenyatta to campaign freely for over four years. However, he continues to block him from engaging with the people, which he described as unfair and undemocratic.
On the issue of transport, Gachagua condemned some Saccos for hiring out their vehicles to goons, who then disrupt peace.
He urged the Saccos to scrutinize who they are renting their vehicles to, before doing so, to prevent such disruptions.
Addressing recent attacks on Uhuru Kenyatta by some ODM leaders, Gachagua defended the former President, emphasizing that Uhuru Kenyatta must be respected as a retired leader.
He urged ODM to focus their grievances on President Ruto, who he said is the one seeking to take over the party.
On matters of education, Gachagua reiterated that all leaders must prudently utilize development funds to build quality schools in their regions, promoting equity in student placement and access to education.
