The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has adjusted its nomination schedule for the Ol Kalou Constituency by-election in Nyandarua County, bringing the exercise forward by one day.

In a notice dated May 4, the party’s National Elections Board, chaired by Anthony Mwaura, announced that the nominations will now be conducted on Friday, May 8, 2026, instead of the earlier date of May 9.

The party indicated that the change followed feedback from members and aspirants within the constituency, prompting a revision of the original timetable. It urged all participants to take note of the new date and make the necessary adjustments.

Earlier arrangements had outlined a registration window running from April 27 to May 3 through the party’s online portal.

The nomination exercise is expected to be competitive, with ten aspirants having already declared interest in securing the UDA ticket. Their bids were formally acknowledged during a meeting convened by Kithure Kindiki, who also serves as the party’s deputy leader, on April 22.

The nominations will pave the way for the upcoming by-election following the death of area MP David Kiaraho on March 29.
