Azimio party has announced plans to embark on civil disobedience starting July 7 in protest of the Finance Act, 2023.

Azimio party leader Raila Odinga said his supporters will adopt a series of acts of civil disobedience until the Finance Act is repealed.
“Through civil disobedience, we will deny Ruto the taxes he thinks he can extort from us by force,” he said.
“Civil disobedience begins with personal actions. We begin today, and we will continue progressively, discreetly and publicly, culminating in the official start of massive countrywide.”
He said the party will convene on July 7, to unveil a program for civil disobedience to force President Ruto out of office.
“Shall pursue collaboration and joining of forces with civil society for the sake of our nation,” he said.
Raila made the declaration during the people’s baraza at Kamukunji grounds on Tuesday.
