A man has been arrested and 70 litres of illicit brew confiscated by police in Athi River, Machakos.
The man was arrested in an operation by undercover officers from Athi River police station on Friday.
Athi River South subcounty police commander Jos Mudavadi said the arrest was made along Nairobi-Namanga Road at around 9.00 am.
The police boss said the suspect had been placed under lawful police custody awaiting to be arraigned in Mavoko Law Courts.
Mudavadi said preliminary investigations had revealed that the suspect was transporting the liquor from a slum in a neighbouring county to an unknown destination.
Mudavadi lauded the public for offering intelligence information which led to the man’s arrest urging them to continue cooperating with security agencies in the area in combating crime.
