A man dies after taking a herbal medicine.
A 18-year-old lad has succumbed to death after taking herbal medicine advised to him by a form three student at a secondary school in Kipkelion East constituency in Kericho who is a well known a local herbalist in the area.
The man, alongside his friend aged 17, took the concoction that costs Ksh.100 per cup.
The 17-year-old survived the ordeal and is admitted at Londiani Sub County Hospital.
The victims from Miti Tatu village in Soget/Tendeno ward, turned to the herbal concoction when they began experiencing malaria-like symptoms.
The concoction was made from boiling the roots of a local indigenous tree.
Clinical officer Justus Mosera of Londiani Sub County Hospital revealed that the deceased passed away at home, while the survivor, Vincent Kiprono, complained of vomiting and abdominal pain, leading to his hospitalization.
