Lionel Andres Messi has today gotten another accolade after The Times Magazine named him Athlete of the year.
Lionel Messi led his national team, Argentina to victory in the last world cup. The 36-year-old athlete became world champion in Qatar last year after he scored seven goals which include two goals that he scored against France making him secure his status as the greatest player of all time.
He moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Inter Miami in July where he established himself as one of the biggest icons in the US sports. “After winning the World Cup and not being able to go to Barca, it was time to go to the U.S. league to experience football in a different way and enjoy the day-to-day,” he said.
