DCI Director Amin Mohammed has been nominated to serve on the INTERPOL Executive Committee, marking a significant step for Kenya in bolstering its presence in global security cooperation.
Following the announcement, Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen congratulated Mr Amin, saying the nomination was a testament to Kenya’s growing leadership in international policing efforts.
During the 27th Annual General Meeting of the Eastern Africa Police Chiefs Cooperation Organisation (EAPCCO on 14 November 2025 CS Murkomen formally communicated Kenya’s intention to present a candidate for the influential global security body.
“We humbly seek the support of all Member Countries in this endeavour to enhance our region’s voice and representation in the global space,” CS Murkomen stated.
He further emphasised the importance of regional collaboration, noting that the future security of Eastern Africa hinges on the decisions made today. The CS reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to working closely with partner states to strengthen safety, security, and prosperity across the region.
“Together, let us transform our cooperation into meaningful action and our partnerships into lasting protection for generations to come,” he added.
