The Odinga family is mourning the death of Beryl Achieng Odinga, the younger sister of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
The news of her passing was shared on Tuesday, November 25, by Kisumu Woman Representative Ruth Odinga, who confirmed that the family had lost Beryl but did not disclose the cause of death.
In her announcement, Ruth noted that Beryl was a daughter of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga and his first wife, Mary Auma, making her a biological sister to Raila and Oburu Oginga.
Through a deeply emotional tribute, Ruth reflected on Beryl’s role within the family and the memories they shared.
“It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Beryl Achieng Odinga,” she wrote, describing her as a cherished daughter of Jaramogi and Mama Mary Ajuma Oginga, and a devoted mother to Ami Auma, Chizi, and Taurus.
Ruth added that although the family is grappling with the pain of the loss, they are finding comfort in their faith and in the time they were able to spend with her.
