Gospel Singer Betty Bayo Succumbs to Leukaemia

Kenyan gospel artist Betty Bayo has passed away after a battle with leukaemia, her family has announced.

The renowned “11th Hour” hitmaker died on Monday while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).

According to a family representative, Betty had been admitted to KNH on Friday after being transferred from AAR Hospital along Kiambu Road, where she was initially undergoing treatment.

“She was suffering from excessive bleeding. The doctors did their best, but the will of God has prevailed,” the representative said, speaking alongside her partner and family members.

Betty Bayo rose to fame through her powerful vocals and uplifting gospel tracks that inspired many across the country. Her music, marked by messages of faith, hope, and resilience, earned her a special place in the hearts of gospel music lovers.

Her untimely death is a heavy blow to Kenya’s gospel fraternity and her fans, who continue to mourn a voice that touched countless souls.

Funeral and memorial arrangements are expected to be communicated by the family in due course.
