Super Metro has dismissed allegations that its buses were used to transport goons to disrupt a political rally held in Kirinyaga County on Sunday, August 23.
The PSV Sacco, in a statement released Monday, August 24, explained that the buses seen in the county were carrying secondary school students on their way to Kathandeni Forest in Gichugu Constituency for a hike.
According to Super Metro, the students were not involved in any political activities and had no links to the meetings taking place in the area.
The company said the clarification was provided by AIC Church Ziwani Nairobi, which organized the students’ trip.
The response comes after videos circulated widely on social media showing what appeared to be groups of young people inside Super Metro buses in Kirinyaga.
The footage sparked claims that the buses had been used to ferry people to the county to cause disruption during meetings organized by the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), including those associated with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
