Engineer Edward Mwirigi Kinyua has been appointed the new Director General of the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA).
He takes over at a time when the petroleum sector is under scrutiny over fuel quality, imports and pricing.
The appointment is part of changes at key energy agencies, with Tom Odhiambo Imbo appointed KETRACO Managing Director and CEO, while Stephen Kipsang Busieney takes over as GDC Managing Director and CEO.
The Energy Ministry said the appointments take effect immediately and followed recruitment processes conducted by the respective boards.
Kinyua succeeds Dr Joseph Oketch, who had been serving as acting EPRA Director General following Daniel Kiptoo’s resignation.
