A quiet village in Bomet County has been left devastated after a 24-year-old female teacher was found brutally murdered on Monday night, in what police believe was a violent domestic attack.

The woman, whose life was cut short in the Kiromwok area, is believed to have been attacked by her husband, 27-year-old Lenox Kipngeno Korir, following a domestic altercation. Bomet County Police Commander Edward Imbwaga confirmed that her lifeless body was discovered within the family compound, lying in a pool of blood. She had sustained deep panga wounds to her head and hand injuries consistent with a vicious assault.

Police reports indicate the couple had a troubled relationship marked by repeated conflicts. Family members had reportedly tried to intervene in the past, but their efforts to reconcile the pair were unsuccessful.

Following the attack, Korir fled the scene and has been on the run since. Authorities have launched an intense manhunt and are urging members of the public to come forward with any information that might help locate the suspect. The murder weapon has not yet been recovered.

The body of the deceased has been taken to Longisa Hospital Mortuary as investigations continue.

Local residents have expressed grief and outrage, calling for swift justice and stronger protections for victims of domestic violence. Police are appealing to anyone who might know the suspect’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station immediately.
