A high-speed crash in the early hours of Saturday morning claimed four lives in Ruiru, Kiambu County, after a car collided head-on with an unmarked, stalled trailer.
The impact was fatal. All four occupants died on the spot.
The crash happened near Membley around 3:40 a.m., on a stretch of road locals describe as a “blackout zone” no working street lights, no reflectors, and reportedly, no warning signs placed around the trailer.
Speed may have played a role, but the scene points to a larger issue: neglected infrastructure, zero visibility, and drivers forced to navigate blind corners and stalled vehicles without any help from road authorities.
The incident is now sparking renewed calls for accountability not only from drivers, but from authorities responsible for road infrastructure and safety enforcement.
