Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have confiscated bhang valued at more than KSh 11 million in two separate operations across Nakuru County.

In the first operation, the Anti-Narcotic Unit, with support from the police dog unit, intercepted a car along the Kabarak–Nakuru road suspected of transporting the illegal substance. Officers arrested the co-driver while the main driver escaped. A search of the vehicle uncovered 12 green sacks and 12 bales of bhang, weighing a total of approximately 387 kilograms. The suspect is being held in police custody ahead of arraignment, and the seized drugs have been secured as evidence.

In a second operation in Kamwosor, Keiyo South constituency, detectives stopped a Toyota Fielder on suspicion of carrying narcotics. A search led to the recovery of seven bags of bhang, and the driver was arrested and detained at Metkei Police Station pending court proceedings.

Overall, the total street value of the seized drugs is estimated at KSh 11.61 million, highlighting ongoing efforts by the DCI to curb drug trafficking in the region.
