Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi was visibly emotional on Friday as he joined relatives and friends at the Eldoret Hospital mortuary to collect the body of his late aunt, Mama Pauline Chelimo Kipkore, who passed away at the age of 87.
The legislator broke down after viewing the body, and had to be consoled by Catholic priest Father Godias Kipkoech together with family members. He did not address mourners and was quietly escorted to his vehicle as the cortege left Eldoret for Kapyego in Elgeyo Marakwet, where the burial will take place on Saturday.
Sudi was accompanied by several leaders, among them Uasin Gishu County Executive for Sports Robert Kemei, UDA official Paul Kiprop, and a number of Members of County Assembly.
Speaking on behalf of the leaders, Kemei extended condolences to the family, describing Mama Chelimo as a respected elder whose memory would remain cherished.
