Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has hailed the success of candidates from the Democracy for Citizens Party after the party posted strong results in Thursday’s by-elections, calling the outcome proof that the outfit is rapidly gaining influence at the grassroots.

In a statement on Friday, Gachagua celebrated the victories of the party’s three candidates, saying their wins signal a growing acceptance of DCP’s message among voters.

He applauded the newly elected leaders Douglas Masikonde in Narok Township, David Warui in Kariobangi North, and Dickson Okwiri Aduda in Kisa East for what he termed disciplined, community-driven campaigns that resonated with locals.

Gachagua credited the party’s rise to persistent voter engagement and candidates who stayed present on the ground rather than relying solely on political branding.

He also commended residents for turning out to vote and for choosing leaders based on their track record with the community rather than political noise.

Looking ahead, he urged upcoming politicians within the DCP to maintain a strong grassroots presence, saying it is the backbone of the party’s growing momentum.
