Former Safina party founding chairperson Paul Muite has criticised the government for what he describes as a persistent disregard for court directives, particularly those requiring the State to compensate citizens who have won legal battles.

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media on December 2, 2025, the veteran lawyer noted that the government has failed to settle compensation claims amounting to more than KSh 15 billion. According to Muite, countless Kenyans who secured favourable court judgments are still waiting for payments that never arrive.

“Many people with valid court judgments continue to suffer quietly,” he wrote. “Successive administrations simply brush aside court orders and decline to pay.”

Muite is now urging the incoming leadership of the Law Society of Kenya to step in and push for accountability. He insisted that the new LSK president and council must confront both the government and the Judiciary over the backlog of unpaid claims, stressing that billions are owed to citizens who sought justice through lawful channels.
