The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has reported that 90,020 Kenyans have so far enrolled as new voters in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which kicked off on September 29, 2025.

According to the latest update, Nairobi leads with the highest number of new registrations at 16,512, followed by Kiambu with 9,917 and Machakos with 4,026.

The commission noted that the exercise, which also allows for voter transfers and detail updates, has recorded 15,619 transfers and 188 updates as of October 31. Nairobi, Mombasa, and Kiambu top the list of counties with the highest number of voter transfers 5,388, 1,791, and 1,766 respectively.

However, some counties continue to lag behind. Tana River, Marsabit, and Isiolo recorded the lowest new registration numbers at 130, 284, and 312 respectively. In addition, Tana River, Wajir, Mandera, Isiolo, and Nandi registered no voter transfers at all.

In a statement, IEBC commended the growing public participation and encouraged more citizens to take advantage of the exercise to either register, transfer, or update their details.

“The Commission remains firmly committed to maintaining the integrity of Kenya’s electoral process and ensuring that every eligible citizen has an equal chance to take part in shaping the nation’s democratic future,” the statement read.
