President William Ruto has tapped Sitati Olando to take over as the acting head of the Government Delivery Unit (GDU), a key office tasked with tracking the implementation of government projects and programs.
The appointment, which took effect immediately, was confirmed in a letter issued by Arthur Osiya, the Principal Administrative Secretary in the Executive Office of the President, on behalf of Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Felix Koskei.
Olando, who previously served as Director of Delivery within the GDU, will now report directly to Deputy Chief of Staff Eliud Owalo, who oversees Delivery and Government Efficiency. His elevation to the new role brings an end to the brief tenure of Lee Kyonze, whose acting appointment was revoked simultaneously.

The Executive Office emphasized that Olando’s appointment is transitional, noting that the formal recruitment of a substantive GDU head is already underway in consultation with the Public Service Commission.
By stepping into the role, Olando takes charge of one of the administration’s most crucial performance-monitoring units, which plays a central role in ensuring the President’s directives and government commitments are executed effectively.
