Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has put a real estate company on notice, threatening to drag it to court over what he terms as “malicious and fabricated” allegations.

The firm had alleged that Gachagua installed a female associate in a luxury apartment without paying the Ksh25 million purchase price, a claim the former DP has flatly denied.

In a strongly worded demand letter, Gachagua’s lawyers dismissed the accusations as defamatory and insisted their client had no dealings with the company, had never stepped into the said property, and was a complete stranger to the purported transaction.

They further demanded a full retraction of the claims, alongside an apology published in at least two national newspapers. The letter gave the company a 24-hour ultimatum to comply or face a defamation lawsuit.

The dispute escalated after the company, through its legal representatives, wrote to Gachagua demanding eviction of the alleged occupant, admission of liability for “unlawful occupation,” and payment of outstanding sums tied to the property’s market value.

Gachagua now says he is prepared to defend his reputation in court should the company fail to withdraw its claims.
