A disagreement over a roadside stall turned deadly in Muhoroni, after a woman was fatally stabbed during an altercation at Shauriyako estate on Monday evening.
Police reports indicate that the confrontation began when the victim, identified as Silvia, was setting up a makeshift stall near a local business. The location of the structure is said to have sparked tension with another trader operating nearby.
Authorities say the suspect, Jane Adhiambo Okeyo, who runs a hotel within the estate, objected to the stall being erected close to her premises. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a heated exchange before turning violent.
During the confrontation, the suspect is alleged to have produced a knife and stabbed the victim. Silvia was rushed to St. Vincent Hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police have since taken the suspect into custody, and she is currently being held at the Muhoroni Police Post as investigations continue.
Authorities say the case highlights rising tensions over informal trading spaces, with further inquiries underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
