Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is mourning the death of his elder sister, Eunice Nyangari Gachagua, who passed away at the age of 77 in Naro Moru.
In a family statement issued on Friday, November 6, Gachagua confirmed that Eunice died on Thursday, November 5, describing her loss as a painful moment for the family.
He remembered her as a central figure in their family, noting that she stepped into a motherly role following the death of their mother, Martha Kirigo Gachagua, seven years ago.
Gachagua said Eunice had remained a source of guidance, care and support to her siblings and other relatives, helping to hold the family together in the years following their mother’s demise.
He added that her passing had created a huge void among family members who depended on her wisdom and presence.
The former Deputy President also sent his condolences to her children, Waithera and Murimi, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the extended Reriani family.
Despite the grief, Gachagua said the family remained thankful for the 77 years Eunice lived, remembering her life as one filled with warmth and happiness.
