Former Harambee Stars striker Boniface Ambani is the new man at the helm of AFC Leopards after winning the club’s elections held on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.

Ambani, a familiar face to Leopards fans from his playing days, cruised to victory with 1,101 votes—comfortably ahead of his sole opponent Enos Mutoka, who managed 682. His win marks the end of Dan Shikanda’s tenure, another ex-international who exits after serving the maximum two terms as chairman.

The highly anticipated elections, overseen by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), also ushered in new faces in other key leadership roles.

Isaac Mulindi emerged as the club’s new Secretary General after receiving 656 votes. He edged out Robert Situma (534 votes) and Irene Sitawa (429 votes) to claim the position. Mulindi now officially steps into a role that had been temporarily held by Caroline Walusaga, following the passing of former SG Gilbert Andugu in May 2025.

Meanwhile, Newton Lime secured the Treasurer’s position with 676 votes, fending off stiff competition from Edward Buhasho (599 votes) and Patrick Kanyangi (445 votes).

With fresh leadership now in place, the Leopards’ faithful will be watching closely to see what direction the new team takes and whether it can steer the historic club toward a long-overdue revival on and off the pitch.
