Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has been summoned to appear before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Saturday, April 5, following a public protest in her constituency.

A viral video captured Wamuchomba leading a crowd in Githunguri on Friday evening, April 4, chanting “Ruto Must Go.” The protest came just before President William Ruto’s planned visit to the area.

Although the reason for the summons wasn’t officially stated, it’s believed to be linked to her role in mobilizing the protest.

Wamuchomba confirmed the summons in a statement on X:
“The CCIO Kiambu has through a telephone called and summoned me; because the great people of Githunguri refused to be lured to fake promises and projects that never meterialised.”

She added:
“Arrest you can do but will not change the facts.”

The MP’s bold stance highlights growing frustration among some Mt. Kenya leaders and residents over stalled government projects and broken promises.
