Four Arrested as Police Seize 3,800 Litres of Kangara in Kahawa West Raid

Police have intensified the crackdown on illicit alcohol after officers in Kahawa West arrested four people during an operation targeting illegal brewing activities.

According to the National Police Service, the suspects were apprehended at an illicit brewing site in the Soweto area, where officers recovered approximately 3,800 litres of kangara and 60 litres of chang’aa. Brewing equipment used in the illegal operation was also confiscated.

The four suspects are being held at Kahawa West Police Station as they await arraignment in court.

Police said the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to dismantle networks involved in the production and distribution of illicit alcohol and other illegal substances. The service also appealed to members of the public to continue sharing information that can support the fight against the manufacture and sale of illegal brews.
