The prices of super petrol, diesel, and kerosene have dropped slightly, following the latest review by the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced on Monday.

Effective April 15, Super Petrol will retail at Ksh174.63 per litre after a decrease of Ksh1.95. Diesel will now cost Ksh164.86 per litre, down by Ksh2.20, while Kerosene drops by Ksh2.40 to retail at Ksh148.99.

EPRA stated that the new prices will remain in effect until May 14 and are inclusive of the 16% VAT, as provided for in the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024. They also factor in revised excise duty rates adjusted for inflation.

Though the reduction is minimal, it offers a small measure of relief for Kenyans facing high transport and energy costs.
