The Kenyan government is leveraging landmark projects like the Global Trade Centre (GTC) Nairobi to shape future urban planning policies, emphasizing innovation and inclusivity in city development.
During a visit to the GTC, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development Alice Wahome underscored the role of such developments in redefining Kenya’s urban landscape. She highlighted the need for modern strategies that accommodate population growth and evolving urban dynamics.
“More than just a landmark, GTC Nairobi serves as a model for modern urban development, influencing policies in housing, public works, and city planning. Its success provides valuable insights that can help shape a more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable urban future,” she stated.
Standing at 184 meters with 43 stories, GTC Nairobi is the tallest mixed-use development in East Africa. Its cutting-edge design and multifunctional spaces set new benchmarks in urban infrastructure, reinforcing Kenya’s commitment to aligning with global architectural and planning standards.
