Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Secretary General Barry Otieno has confirmed that the second leg of the Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier between Harambee Starlets and Cameroon will be staged at the Nyayo National Stadium on Tuesday, September 26.
The clarification comes just four days after the Ministry of Sports closed Kasarani, Nyayo and Kipchoge Keino stadiums for renovations as Kenya races to be ready for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
The move brought uncertainty on the venue to host the second leg of Starlets versus Cameroon Wafcon qualifier, but the recent update from the federation ends the uncertainty, also opening doors for fans to attend.
Harambee Starlets will be looking to get a favorable result in the first leg against the Indomitable Lionesses Friday evening at the Stade de Reunification de Doula, starting 9:00pm Kenyan Time.
Should they overcome Cameroon, they will face either Gabon or Botswana in the second round, between November 27 and December 5, 2023.
