Interior and National Administration CS Kipchumba Murkomen has commended the NPS for the enhanced security measures during last Sunday’s CHAN tournament.

The CS said the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and his team did a splendid job to ensure the country fully complied with the CAF regulations, after the national team, Harambee Stars, was fined following its match with Morocco.

“I want to thank the IG for doing a fantastic job to secure Kasarani and ensure we abide by the CAF rules,” said the CS.

He went on: “This Friday, the game between Kenya and Madagascar will even be bigger and I will be speeding up our Nyeri County Jukwaa la Usalama event to attend the game,” said the CS, a sports enthusiast.

“It will be a moment of pride for the nation and I want to assure the country that we will provide the necessary security to ensure the sport activity is successful,” said Mr Murkomen.

He continued, “We are waiting for directions from CAF regarding the allowable numbers and once that is confirmed, I ask Kenyans to be supportive as they did to Harambee Stars. They saw how it came out very well in compliance with CAF rules.”

The CS vowed that any disruption of activities from politicians, either by those who have been out of the country or otherwise, is not going to be entertained at Kasarani.
