On Thursday, May 29, 2025, Kenya’s top leadership will gather at Nairobi’s Safari Park Hotel for the Annual National Prayer Breakfast a moment expected to spark collective reflection on the country’s challenges and hopes under the theme “Rise and Rebuild.”
The event, confirmed by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula, brings together leaders from across the political divide, religious institutions, civil society, and the private sector. While traditionally symbolic, this year’s interfaith gathering carries heightened significance as the country grapples with economic pressures, political fragmentation, and calls for social renewal.
President William Ruto will attend as Chief Guest, reinforcing the importance of spiritual grounding and unity in national discourse. Organized by Members of Parliament, the breakfast is designed as a nonpartisan space for prayer and recommitment to values of service and leadership.
“This is more than a tradition; it’s a platform for realignment a chance to remember what binds us when the politics of division are loudest,” said a source close to the organizing committee, chaired by MP Samuel Chepkonga.

The theme “Rise and Rebuild” reflects the urgency of Kenya’s moment, inviting leaders to look beyond partisanship and engage in honest introspection on the nation’s direction. As public confidence in institutions faces strain, the Prayer Breakfast may offer a timely reminder of shared responsibility in the face of national uncertainty.
