Detectives in Nairobi are investigating the gruesome murder of a 35-year-old woman whose body was discovered inside a guest house in Fuata Nyayo, South B, on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Farhia Ahmed, of Somali origin, had checked into Kangema Guest House on Sunday night, August 31, 2025, in the company of a man later identified as Chelsea Mwangi, also known by the alias Mcheche.
According to the guest house owner, Joyce Wangari Wachera, Mwangi paid Ksh400 for Room 1 on the first floor at around 11:00 p.m., where the two spent the night.
The following morning, at about 8:00 a.m., caretaker Rebecca Moraa grew suspicious after noticing the door to the room was slightly open. Inside, she found Farhia’s lifeless body sprawled on the bed, with blood seeping from her mouth and nose. Police later confirmed that she had visible head injuries, including trauma to the back of her skull.
Officers from South B Police Station, together with detectives from the DCI Makadara office, cordoned off the scene. The Scenes of Crime unit documented the room before the body was taken to the City Mortuary for a postmortem.
Mwangi, who checked in with the deceased, is believed to have fled shortly after the killing. He has been named the prime suspect, and a manhunt is underway.
Police say investigations are ongoing, urging members of the public with any information on Mwangi’s whereabouts to report to the nearest station.
