Ruto Mourns Chivayo After Fatal Helicopter Crash

President William Ruto has mourned Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo and his wife, Lucy Muteke, following their deaths in a helicopter crash in Zimbabwe. Six people were killed in the accident in the Marondera area.

Ruto described Chivayo as a dear friend, remembering him for his warmth, energy and belief in Africa’s potential.

The couple were among six people who died after the helicopter went down in the Marondera Rural area, according to Zimbabwean police.

Ruto described Chivayo as a close friend, recalling the businessman’s warmth, energy and strong belief in Africa’s potential.

“Wicknell was a dear friend whose warmth touched many people. I will remember him for his friendship, his energy and his deep conviction in the possibilities of our continent,” Ruto said.

Chivayo had frequently been seen alongside Ruto at State House and during national events, reflecting the close friendship between the two.

In his message of condolence, Ruto said Chivayo’s sudden death, together with that of his wife and the other victims, was a painful loss to their families, friends and those who knew them.

The President also extended his condolences to the families of all those who died, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe as they mourn the loss.

Ruto concluded his message by praying for eternal rest for Chivayo, Muteke and the other victims of the crash.o died, Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the people of Zimbabwe following the tragedy.
