President William Ruto and ODM elder Oburu Oginga on Tuesday morning hosted a joint breakfast meeting bringing together lawmakers elected in last week’s by-elections, just hours before they take the oath of office.
The informal gathering, convened by the two leaders in their capacities as heads of their respective political formations, also drew in senior parliamentary figures from both the Majority and Minority sides. Invitations were extended not only to the winners but also to candidates who contested under affiliated parties but did not clinch victory.

Those in attendance included Senator-elect Kiprono Chemitei of Baringo and newly elected MPs Maalim Hassan (Banisa), David Ndakwa (Malava), and Leo Muthende (Mbeere North), all aligned with the ruling UDA. They were joined by ODM’s Moses Omondi (Ugunja), Boyd Were (Kasipul), and Harrison Kombe (Magarini).
The meeting is seen as part of broader efforts to create rapport with the incoming legislators ahead of their formal induction into Parliament later in the day.
