President William Ruto has appealed for calm in Tanzania following days of unrest and violence that erupted after the country’s October 29 elections.

In a message of goodwill to President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who was re-elected for another term, Ruto congratulated her while urging Tanzanians to prioritize peace, dialogue, and respect for the rule of law during this tense period.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kenya, I extend heartfelt congratulations to Her Excellency Samia Suluhu Hassan on her re-election,” Ruto stated. “I also urge our brothers and sisters in Tanzania to uphold peace and embrace dialogue as they work through any post-election grievances.”

“Kenya remains ready to work closely with Tanzania and other East African partners to foster peace, prosperity, and integration in our region,” he said.
