The funeral service of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu, whose murder shocked the legal fraternity and the nation at large, will be held today, Tuesday, at St. John the Evangelist Church in Lang’ata.
Among those expected to attend the service is Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who will join family, friends, and colleagues in paying tribute to the late advocate.
Last week, members of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) held a candlelight vigil in Mbobu’s honour, renewing their calls for swift justice. They urged the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to fast-track probes and bring to book those responsible for what they described as a brutal and cowardly act.
Mbobu was shot dead by an unidentified gunman on a motorcycle in Nairobi last week. A postmortem conducted by Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor revealed he succumbed to excessive bleeding after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds.
DCI detectives say investigations into the killing are ongoing, with several leads already under review.
