The investigation into the murder of Kasipul Member of Parliament, Charles Ong’ondo Were, has taken a major turn with the arrest of a suspect in Nairobi.
Following a detailed probe, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported that the arrest was made after crucial forensic evidence and CCTV footage confirmed the suspect’s presence along the MP’s route before the shooting.
The tragic event unfolded last Wednesday evening when the MP was shot in cold blood shortly after leaving Parliament. Authorities are now broadening their search to track down additional suspects and recover the firearm used in the crime.
In response to the arrest, Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma expressed his hope that this development would lead to justice, reinforcing the collective desire to see the perpetrators held accountable.
