The court established that the man was indeed guilty of defiling a 2-year-old child contrary to Section 8(1) and Section 8(2) of the Sexual Offences Act.
The prosecution, led by Jamlick Muriithi, presented four witnesses, including a doctor who testified that the minor had suffered continuous defilement.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) said it had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
“During the trial presided over by the Principal Magistrate, Honourable Christine Menya, it was revealed that the accused committed this terrible act between May 2021 and June 4, 2022,” ODPP said Monday.
The ODPP said the accused person would concurrently serve another 40-year sentence over offences of defilement that he had committed around the same time within Huruma Estate.
