A Nairobi court has charged a man with multiple counts of cyber harassment following allegations that he published defamatory content on social media concerning Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda.
The accused, John Vianney Onyango, popularly known online as “Jay Vee Ke,” appeared before the Milimani Law Courts where prosecutors outlined claims linked to a series of Facebook posts made in April 2026.
According to court documents, Onyango is accused of sharing videos and accompanying captions that questioned the handling of relief food distributed through the senator’s office. The prosecution alleges that some of the posts suggested irregularities in the programme and raised concerns about the quality of maize flour supplied to residents.
One of the charges relates to a video allegedly posted on April 14, 2026, in which the accused claimed that an elderly woman had been emotionally affected by alleged misconduct associated with the relief distribution exercise.
In a separate count, prosecutors allege that Onyango published another post on April 16, claiming that residents of Kisumu Central were experiencing food shortages due to political interference in the distribution process.
The third charge stems from a video allegedly shared on April 29, 2026, which claimed that residents had demanded investigations into reports of contaminated maize flour distributed through the senator’s office and coordinated by a county official.
The case is now before the court, where the allegations against the accused will be subjected to judicial determination.
