INJECT Party leader Morara Kebaso has confirmed that he has officially joined the Jubilee Party as political realignments gather pace ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during a televised interview, Kebaso revealed that although the INJECT Party will remain registered, it will no longer serve as the platform for his political activities. Instead, he said he will work through Jubilee, the party currently associated with former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i.
Kebaso explained that the move was driven by the prevailing political landscape, saying leaders must adapt to the realities on the ground if they hope to effectively engage voters.
According to him, Jubilee remains the dominant political brand in Borabu, Nyamira County and the wider Gusii region, making it a more practical vehicle for advancing his political agenda.
He argued that introducing a new party in an area where voters are already familiar with an established outfit could distract from the message a leader intends to communicate.
Kebaso maintained that choosing a familiar political platform would allow him to focus on policy and leadership rather than persuading voters to embrace a new party.
Addressing criticism over working with leaders he has previously opposed, Kebaso said political leadership often demands collaboration despite past differences, adding that shared goals should take precedence over previous disagreements.
The announcement places Kebaso among a growing number of politicians repositioning themselves as alliances begin to take shape ahead of the next general election.
