Airline Confirms No Survivors in Kwale Plane Crash

An air travel company has confirmed that the light aircraft that went down in Kwale County on Tuesday morning was carrying 11 people 10 passengers and one crew member at the time of the crash. Sadly, there were no survivors.

In a statement released after the tragedy, the airline clarified that all 10 passengers were foreign nationals who were headed to the Maasai Mara for a tour. Earlier reports had suggested that 12 people were on board, but the company has now revised that figure.

According to the airline, the ill-fated plane, registered as 5Y-CCA, had eight Hungarians, two Germans, and one Kenyan crew member on board.

“We are deeply saddened by this devastating loss. Based on preliminary information, there were 10 passengers and one crew member on the flight. Unfortunately, there are no survivors. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those affected,” the airline said.

The aircraft was operating a scheduled flight from Diani Airport to Kichwa Tembo in the Maasai Mara when it crashed. Following the incident, the company announced that it had activated a Family Assistance Team to provide counselling, logistical support, and other necessary help to the affected families.

An emergency response team is also on the ground, working closely with government agencies as investigations into the cause of the crash continue.
