A General Service Unit (GSU) officer has died after being electrocuted while cleaning his bicycle at the GSU camp in Kimbo, Juja Sub-County, Kiambu County.
The officer, identified as Police Constable Benedict Juma Oduori, is reported to have suffered the fatal electric shock on Saturday, October 25, 2025, while using an electric car wash machine to clean his personal bicycle.
According to a police report filed by Chief Inspector Meshack Ikuthu, who serves at the same camp, the officer was discovered lying unconscious by the sentry on duty, still clutching the washing machine.
He was rushed to the camp’s dispensary and later referred to Kenyatta University Referral Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead while receiving treatment.
A postmortem examination was later conducted at the facility to establish the exact cause of death.
