Detectives are looking for an unknown man who is believed to have murdered a female police officer in Mashuuru, Kajiado Central.
The police officer, who was positively identified, is attached to the Emali SGR station – Mashuuru Sub County police commander Charles Chepkonga confirmed.
She was stabbed in the neck and face with a sharp object in an incident that occurred at around 8 pm Wednesday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, they had a commotion at the house belonging to the officer before a man with a bloody knife was seen taking off.
The officer’s body was discovered at her doorstep.
Mashuuru Sub County police commander Charles Chepkonga said preliminary investigations point out that the suspect is known by neighbours.
“It is unfortunate that a life was lost. There is no justification whatsoever to kill anybody. We have taken up the matter and commenced an investigation into the motive of the murder. We have crucial information that is helping us pursue the suspect,” Chepkonga said.
