Kenyans will have a chance to explore the country’s world-famous wildlife free of charge later this month. The government has declared that on Saturday, September 27, 2025, entry into all national parks, game reserves, and sanctuaries will be free of charge.
Tourism Cabinet Secretary Rebecca Miano made the announcement in honour of World Tourism Day, which is observed every year on September 27. This year’s theme, “Tourism and Sustainable Transformation,” underscores the role of tourism in driving social and economic progress.
“To mark this important occasion, the Government of Kenya is granting all citizens free entry into Kenya Wildlife Service–managed parks, reserves, and sanctuaries,” Miano said in her statement.
The CS described the initiative as a rare opportunity for Kenyans to rediscover the country’s natural treasures, connect with its diverse wildlife, and renew their sense of responsibility toward conservation.
“This is a chance to explore, to learn, and to celebrate our parks and reserves,” she noted, adding that Kenya’s biodiversity is not only a source of national pride but also a global heritage that must be protected for future generations.
