Suspected drug traffickers Shee Hussein and Henry Mburu Njogu were arrested today in separate anti-narcotics operations, as authorities intensified their crackdown on drug distribution networks across the country.
In Msambweni, Mombasa, Shee Hussein was apprehended by Anti-Narcotics Unit detectives at the Magaoni area while aboard a public service vehicle. A quick search uncovered 200 grams of heroin hidden in his left trouser pocket.
“Cornered and under pressure, he capitulated, guiding detectives to his stash at home, which led to the discovery of an additional 19 packages of Cannabis sativa,” said the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
Hussein is currently held at Kilindini Port Police Station and is expected to be arraigned in court.
Meanwhile, in Kabati, Murang’a County, ANU officers based at DCI Headquarters intercepted Henry Mburu Njogu, who was driving a Toyota Rumion, registration number KCP 885G. A search at his residence led to the recovery of 21 sacks of cannabis sativa. Njogu is being held at Mutahiga Police Station.
