Government services offered through Huduma Centres across the country have been temporarily interrupted after a power failure affected the agency’s data centre in Nakuru.
In a public notice, Huduma Kenya confirmed that the outage had disrupted access to several digital systems that support service delivery at its centres nationwide.
“We wish to inform the public that services are temporarily unavailable at the Huduma Centre due to a power outage that affected our data centre in Nakuru,” the agency stated.
According to Huduma Kenya, technical teams are currently working to restore the affected systems and resume normal operations as soon as possible.
The disruption has also impacted other support platforms, including Huduma Contact Centre services and the Tele-Counselling Centre, limiting access to assistance for members of the public seeking government services.
With the outage affecting core infrastructure, a number of essential services are expected to experience delays. These include the processing of national identity cards, such as new applications, replacements, and collection of completed documents.
Passport-related services and document verification processes are also likely to be affected, potentially slowing transactions that depend on timely issuance or authentication of official documents.
The agency has assured citizens that efforts are underway to resolve the issue and restore full service delivery, while urging the public to remain patient as recovery operations continue.
