KWS official hand in hand with the help of the local community are trying to put out fire in Mt Kilimabongo located in Oldonyosabuk National Park in Matungulu subcounty in Machakos county.
According to KWS warden in that area Kisera Fredrick the fire started when one person who resides next to the park was burning bushes in preparation of the coming rains and as a result of strong wind the fire spread.
Massive damage has been witnessed after a big chunk of the forest has been destroyed and also some wild animals.
