Prime Cabinet Secretary and Foreign Affairs CS Musalia Mudavadi on Tuesday officially bid farewell to outgoing U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Marc Dillard, marking the end of his diplomatic service in Kenya.

In a warm and reflective meeting, Mudavadi commended Dillard for playing a pivotal role in deepening the historic relationship between Kenya and the United States. He noted that under Dillard’s watch, ties between the two nations had flourished, particularly in the areas of trade, innovation, and strategic partnerships.

“Our dialogue reaffirmed the commitment from both sides to expand cooperation where it matters most economic growth, investment opportunities, and technology,” said Mudavadi.

The two leaders also explored key regional and international matters, with a focus on security dynamics and how shifting global trends are shaping economic stability, skills development, and collaborative diplomacy.

Dillard, who now concludes his assignment, expressed confidence in the future of Kenya–U.S. relations. He voiced optimism that his successor appointed by former U.S. President Donald Trump will continue to build on the strong groundwork laid during his term.

Mudavadi thanked Dillard for his service and wished him well in his next chapter, acknowledging the lasting impact of his diplomatic tenure in Nairobi.
