Reigning world marathon champion Peres Jepchirchir is gearing up for yet another challenge the Valencia Marathon set for December 7, 2025, in Spain. The Kenyan star, who has already etched her name in athletics history, is determined to extend her dominance on the global stage.

Jepchirchir’s comeback has been nothing short of remarkable. After being sidelined by injuries that forced her to miss major marathons in Paris (2024) and London (2025), she made a stunning return by clinching gold at the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo.

In Tokyo, she delivered a masterclass performance, outpacing Ethiopia’s Tegist Assefa in a thrilling finish to secure the world title. The victory reaffirmed her place among the all-time greats in women’s marathon running.

Despite currently training without a coach, Jepchirchir remains confident in her preparation and discipline.

“I follow the same program I’ve always used. I know my body, I know my goals. I just believe in myself,” she said.

Now, with an Olympic gold and two world titles to her name, Jepchirchir’s focus has shifted to Valencia a race known for producing fast times and fierce competition. For her, it’s not just another marathon, but another opportunity to prove her resilience and extend a legacy built on determination and faith.
