President Ruto Pledges Full Support to Kibra Fire Victims After Deadly Blaze

President William Ruto has extended government support to families affected by a devastating fire in Kibra’s Makina area, which claimed eight lives and left at least 20 others seriously injured.

The President visited the area on Sunday after attending a church service at the Africa Inland Church (AIC) Kibra, where he donated essential relief items, including food and mattresses, to those displaced by the inferno.

Addressing the affected residents, President Ruto assured them of comprehensive government assistance, including compensation for those who lost property and livelihoods in the fire.

“No one will be left behind in this process,” the President stated, emphasizing the government’s commitment to helping all victims recover and rebuild.

The tragic blaze, which broke out in the densely populated Makina neighborhood, left scores homeless and caused extensive destruction. Police have confirmed eight fatalities and over 20 individuals receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Authorities continue to assess the damage as emergency response teams remain on the ground offering aid and support.
